Today I had 2 experiences with bugs and birds. I was examining my first tomatoe plant ever, I do this several times a day. Something has been nibbling on it.. Those little green pest.. I have been tempted to use some bug killer. Well, In swooped a wasp and I noticed he was eating one of those little green pest.. I will never bad mouth a wasp again.

Then I am working in my garage and I keep hearing this small noise tapping on tin, I looked several times, finally I see it. My big dog…

Hi Shirley,
Really investigate the different breeds before you buy. Some have bad temperaments and some are very gentle. Leghorns can be feisty and large. Bantams small and gentler. You don't want to end up with a bad tempered bird that can live for 8+ years. Pick up a couple of chicken magazines and talk with people that have chickens. I would love to get a couple of Buff Orpingtons, but don't really have the room for a couple more chickens...at least that is what my husband says :) Good luck!

I know this variety as Jacob Cline, I have this and it will get very big for you. I have mine in full sun and it does well for me... This plant is suseptible to powdery mildew which I treat it proactivly, I spray with Bayer systemic disease control, this has to be done almost weekly but it is definately worth the effort.

Hi Shirley I planted this particular plant last year, they were three little plants that I got from Michigan bulb as part of a package deal, I cant believe how HUGE they got this year! I use Osmocote as a fertilizer, its a slow release just sprinkled around, I also mix it in with the soil whenever I plant. Do you know what variety you planted? Not all grow this tall, I have Coral Reef that gets around 3' gorgeous hot pink blooms, this variety I have had alot of luck with, this one I always have enough of to share. Then there is Petite Marshall grows to be about 1' tall, doesnt really spread alot. I hhope this helps. Judi

That lawn service is really bad for dogs and kids. What was Matt trying so hard to get rid of. It is bad enough ya'll are breathing the neighbors toxic fumes.
