Reg Langlois said… Hi Thea, the profile pic is of a Barbie doll dressed as a fairy and I have used software to give it that pencil drawing look about it.
Oh. Congrats!!! That is so wonderful. Your life is so full. I don't think you post too much, hey, you write pages to me if you feel like talking, I will read every word and enjoy every thought. I love hearing about your travels, and "GRANDMA"!!!, that is just so joyous. Take good care, I must get off of my butt & find something to do. Cold, windy, ground frozen and I am getting ready to vacate alone (I have never been gone alone to a vacation destination). I used to go see my Grandmother twice a month, but she has been gone a long time. I used to drive "over the hill" That is our slang for going across Donner Pass from Nv. to Ca., all the time. Now, I feel stuck in a rut, well, because I am. It is time for me to do something else. I planted this amazing garden, and no one to share it with in the way I want. My kids are busy, as it should be. My old life went by the wayside when I was Nan's caretaker, I was blessed to see her every day for that year. Then she died in her sleep, and now I need to fill my life back up. Kathy in California has been responding to my search for a new location. There are school gardens where she is where I could volunteer. Have a great time trucking and with your wonderful kids and grandkids!! Love, Marian
Thank you for the red ribbon. I'm not sure what I'm suppose to do with it. I like the idea of a perpetual camping trip. After many years in the rat race, I feel so blessed to live peacefully in the country. You know, our names mean the same thing. I assume Thea is short for Theadora? It means "gift of God". Good night, my husband just pulled up. Talk to you later.
Hey, Thea. Are you home from your travels now? I've been thinking of you. Just got back going on G.S. this week. It is great to hear what all of our fellow gardeners are doing. I think I must post too long of letters. I need to get out and find people in this community who love nature. Gardening isn't prevalent here so I am considering moving to Oregon. They are all about gardening there, and so as not to insult anyone's home/town and/or state, many other places in the U.S. Oregon is just the closest state that views things like gardens in schools and community Bluebird trails a priority & I don't want to go so far that it is difficult to see my 2 Daughters that live here. Looking forward to hearing what's up over there. Marian
Thanks for the compliment on my page Thea. You don't think the flowery graphics inerfere w/ the reading of the posts?.......You are such a good friend Thea, always asking about my wellbeing and praying for me.God bless you and keep you always ,...thank you :)
OH MY, I was sure I was seeing a mutated giant bee! Then I calmed down, and looked at it, and then thought it was a baby hummer, then realized it was neither. I'm not sure when, how, I found out what it was!
Joseph Wright said… Thanks for being my new friend Thea, I loved the pink color too on the poinsetta.tree sounds nice. look foward to hearing your stories. looks like you get alot of snow. This winter we didn't see any yet, but late October we had some storm. Wet snow, I was running around knocking it off the schrubs so the branches won't break! take care & happy new year!
I looked and didn't find who it is that you memorialize in your garden. Would you mind telling me who you lost? I hope there comes a time for you to spend time on your 13 acres, if that is what you want. Of coarse, it says great things about you & your husband that you go with him on the long hauls. I am so happy for you that you enjoy driving the country together. Is your husband interested in Gardening? If he is, what a great and healthy project it would be to enlarge your garden. I would make a huge amount native wildflowers and grasses. It probably already has native plants, as it is wild-right? I think I remember you saying that. If you do want to have wildflowers that the native and migrating birds and other wildlife benefit from, please let me know. My self-sowers supply literally 1000's of seeds every season, plus I am getting pretty good at collecting other seeds. I would love to share and therefore be kind of part of your wildflower meadow. One thing I am going to change come Spring, is I am going to open my yard to the public. There is hardly any joy in seeing all the bloom cycles alone. It is to share, all beauty is more lovely when shared. I think that's why gardeners are such a generous group, we innately want to have companionship to enjoy the blessings of our gardens. Since you already have "Blessings", I can't wait to see if you are able to find time to plant it. Sincerely, Marian
