I'm thinking about the 4th weekend. I had a good visit with the momma. She always comes down and I put her to work. We moved a brush pile that I use for the fire pit back behind the shed. This was a good thing. It got rid of a lot of bugs and mosquito's and made the back of the house look a lot better. We tore everthing out, put down some landscape fabric, stones and moved some of my potted plants over there. The area is totally transformed. I did have a moment at the Menard's when we went for supplies for this little project. I have a pretty limited budget and I'm standing in line to basically pay for about $30 worth of rocks. Looks good though.
We also got some supplies to build my first terarrium. It's sitting here on the corner of my desk with a few succulants and a goofy frog. I am trying to think of some new ways to bring growing things indoors. All my house plants got re-potted and I swear they all said "thank you". Some of my potho's are over 20 years old and needed some new soil and a bit of freshening up.
My neighbor has been building some new beds out back and tearing out some others. This is a benefit to me because my neighbors have handed over several "extra's" and I've got some new Hosta's which are a great addition to my beds and now I have some new Iris's to find a spot for. Does it ever end? I take a few extra days off and I spend it all working on the yard and planning what I'm going to do next.
Four days, sweaty, no make up, mom's home safely and the black and white pups are pooped :) The yard looks good, I just posted some new pics. I think I'll get ready, make up too and go see the new Twilight movie. Life is good here in Columbus :)
