I have been in the industry for over 20 years. I have a Bachelors in Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, and Business Management. Yes I love plants. I have experience in almost every aspect of this industry, with many certifications and licenses. To include plant breeding, propagation and production. I love them all. I would love to own my own wholesale nursery one day. So I can do propagation and production to my heart’s content. I would have an area in that nursery were I would do plant breeding. As all in this industry you have to approach plant breeding is a hobby. You don't make a lot of money unless you get lucky. I would win a multimillion dollar lottery before getting a plant that is market ready. But what interesting things we can come up with. My personal favorite is Herbaceous Perennials. I also enjoy Trees and Shrubs but not as much. I pretty much look at Annuals as a filler until my perennials fill in. My container are filled with perennials, shrubs and a few annuals. I was working for a blueberry breeder. I have been called a “Perennials Expert,” and a “Plant Doctor” this is an ever changing world and do not proclaim it myself. I am just really interested in healthy and happy plants. I came up with my own manuals to help my co-workers and myself in remembering information about the plants. They are a work in progress; do to new and exciting varieties and new information on the tried and true varieties. I have seven different categories for these manuals. I enjoy the research and passing it on to others. They also were not intended to answer everything, just the basics. What fun they were to write. The economy fell here in Michigan and I got laid-off. So yes I am currently looking for a job and I am willing to relocate. Will send resume upon request. Well if you have any question feel free to ask. I will be adding more later. Thank you

Marie, I'm sorry about your lay-off. Living in Michigan, myself, I know how it is to get up and hold your breath all day long. Good luck on your job search. I hope you don't have to leave MI, but also hope that wherever opportunity takes you, you find success.
