It looks like it's going to be another beautiful day here in the NW...spent a couple of hours taking out blackberries that had invaded the rhodies on the lower level and still have more to go and still have to mow the hayfield, then have to mow the lawn again so things look all spiffy for the 4th......have a new pot of sugar water brewing for those baby hummers as they are now emptying two a day, one large one and another smaller one. they are spoiled little guys as they like homemade better than store bought.
My friend Tom said he would come out and help get rid of the blackberries I said YES!!!, they have scratched my arms all up, My husband said wear a long sleeve shirt, hmmmmmm and why didn't I think of that?
The painters will be here to finish the shop garage doors and that project will be done then just have to pressure wash the house and things will be done for this year....I hope. I picked strawberries yesterday and looks like the raspberries are beginning to get ripe and still need to finish hilling up the potatoes and weeding the rest of the garden.....women work is never done.
Have a geat 4th of July everyone

Thanks Tracey ....It is fun to watch them but they sure go through the sugar water I'm making 2 three to one every other day I find if I make it 4 to one they just don't drink it, hope it's not hurting them and if the ants get in the bottle and they do, the birds won't drink it so have had to throw away a couple of batches until I took care of the ants. Between the squirrels and they're peanuts gold finches which only eat thistle seed and the blackheaded grosbeaks that eat sunflower seeds and the regular birds that eat wild bird seed we are certainly helping the economy grow
