I spent this afternoon until about, oh, 7:00 PM out in the yard and gardens. It was a LOVELY day! It was overcast all morning and early afternoon. Nice and cool (by GA standards.) Perfect for working. The skies cleared and there was a wonderful breeze. So, I planted a couple perenials. But I had to rework the space to place them where I wanted them. One is a echinacea, Big Sky "Sundown," a pretty dark coral color. The other is a l.a. hybrid lily, brindisi. It is gorgeous, a lighter coral color. In another area I added some dwarf liriope to some I've been planting and some Irish moss between stepping stones. Spread bark chips in some of the bedding areas. Pulled lots of weeds, tree seedlings, virginia creeper, ivy and the regular liriope that makes me crazy because it spreads by seed and runners! Around the side yard I moved a couple small surviving hostas to a better location to baby them Planted 2 of the 3 Autumn ferns I had to plant. Talked with the neighbor when he came over to rescue his geriatric black lab from my daughter's geriatric guard cat! Lucy Kitty is very protective! Ended the day planting a few succulants in a dish garden.
All in all it was a very productive day!
