Hello everyone,
I have had the pleasure of purchasing two Cypress vines ($.50 each) from a local church event and planted them at my mailbox. Needless to say, WOW! They have taken off like crazy.
I did a little research about them on-line and found out that they self-seed. Which, I kind of already knew..but certainly didn't know that it would do so very well. And I PROMISE, I have done nothing to help this plant, except run a fishing line up my mailbox to help guide it.
After finding my research on-line about drying out the dead headed blooms, I wanted to save the seeds to share. But I'm afraid that (and I know that I've missed some), that there are blooms that have already fallen into the bed and are getting ready (for next year) to surprise me.
I will upload a few pictures of just how big it has become, and I mean over about two months!!!!! If anyone has any advise about this lovely plant, I would greatly appreciate any tips and/or guidance. I love the plant, so I'm not getting rid of it, namely because it has one of my favorite color palates (RED).
Oh yeah, it's also known as "Hummingbird Vine".
Thanks in advance,
Merri, Georgia Girl
