Does anyone have a creative way to incorporate a downspout into a mulched flowerbed?

Another way is to use a rain chain and set the end of the chain into a large decorative pot with stones then have the water drain from under the pot this way when it rains the pot is always filling but never full

My husband put a downspout is in the middle of my flower beds...I was overly happy about it....but it's turned out pretty good, because it's a hosta bed, so too much rain hasn't been a problem. I just put a rock under mine and planted a clematis on the downspout, with the black plastic stuff...have no clue what it's called, for the clematis to grow on. I tried to download a picture....but not sure if it's working. You commented on one of pictures...which is funny....because I didn't even see my husband peeking out the front window until you mentioned it...Thank You!!!

I have made little dry creek beds that lead from where water exits the downspout, to the front edge of the flowere bed, so that the water does not mess up the mulch in the flower bed. I placed some weed fabric down on the soil, and placed larger rocks on the outside edges of the dry creek, and smaller rocks/pebbles in the middle, so it makes a small ditch, that kind of keeps the water in the creek, until it leaves the flower bed. It seems to work well, and in my opinion looks neat too. I like to use multi-colored bull rock for the pebbles, and some other kind of larger rock for the outside edges.

Depending on how much rain you do get, you can take a rain barrel and attach a soaker hose to it and lt feed it during the rain. Or you can store it in the barrel for a day or two then go ahead and attach a soaker to use it.
