Many people have commented on my visit to my friend's fairy garden. As I said my pictures do not really show the detail, so I'll try to describe it. It is a large oval galvanized tub that is planted with lots of miniature plants including hostas. The tub is just about the right height for the kids to view and interact with the garden. Vignettes and statues of fairies are stading among the plants. One example is the patio with table and chairs in my pictures. My friend was telling me that at one point two of her grandsons were misbehaving and broke one of the fairies' arms. On their next visit, they found all the fairies gone from the garden and she explained to them, that the fairies were not happy with the way they had been treated and had left the garden. The children wanted to know what they had to do to make the fairies come back. She told them they should apologize for their behavior and promise to be better from now on. They agreed to do that and on subsequent visits the fairies started to reappear one by one. I love this story and the fairy garden.
