I planted my seedlings on the 12th and one week later, I already have seedlings coming up in the trays that I used the seed heat mats. I think I may have to look into purchasing a couple more. Right now, I just rotated trays so that the ones that have not sprouted yet are now on a heat mat. As the seedlings grow, I will slowly lift the lights higher so that the lights are always about 2 or 3 inches above them. This will help to keep them from getting too tall, too quick and they will develop into stronger plants.

I have a habit of starting seeds in my garden room ~ 16' of grow lights on adjustable chains ~ too early, and the ones to be direct sown apparently too late. But I got a great cherry tomato harvest that I just used the last of in soup. My herbs also did well, I didn't overdo planting and I learned to harvest more often. I enjoyed making cooking oils so much and giving it to my family. I use it almost exclusively now to cook with. So much to learn, and ever changing are just 2 of the things that make gardening a passion. Nature has bestowed blessings upon what was dirt and rocks here where we built our little house. 1/3 acre is considered small! It keeps me nice and busy.
