Let's share our wonders and woes. I hope this site brings together those with expertise with those who have questions. I'd like to begin by inviting anyone that has an indoor herb garden to share their pictures, successes and challenges for us just starting to learn how to do our own :-)

OK, I know that it's fine to plant cold weather seeds this time of year like lettuce, spinach, and arugula, but cabbage and cauliflower seedlings? But necessity is the mother of invention so Target came to the rescue :-)

How many of you over buy a wide variety of seed packets as a way to act out cabin fever? I don't think I'm alone (hahaha)

Well, it hit 60 degrees today and I decided to plant my arugula, spinach, and leaf lettuce seeds. I also thought I'd give some store bought cabbage and cauliflower seedings a chance. I hope it doesn't drop too drastically the next couple of weeks ((:-X

Hello Meredith, I've always had trouble with mint taking over my herb beds. I think trying them in hanging pots might be a cool option this season. I might mix the mint with something more vine-like to give different textures, color and growth orientation. I'll have to think on that :-)

I'm glad you like the Merry-Grow-Round. I'm really proud of it as it is made from re-cycled nylon and it is made here in the USA! You can use them indoors and outdoors. So, which herbs do you think would grow best in pots? I've heard that some herbs take over the garden so they are best grown in pots and others are fine in a bed.

Thanks Meredith. I like the MGR's flexibility. This really gives me the range I need to fit the different kinds of baskets I have.

Glad you liked the Merry-Grow-Round. It really is the only way I keep plants alive on my front porch! LOL The MGR works easily with wire baskets as well. You just attach it to the top wire instead of the lip of the pot. Happy planting!

I went to the site and saw your rotating hanger. I think it's really great! Can't wait for the weather to get better so I can start planting. I think I'll try a couple of your hangers and see how well it works. I wonder, do you have something that can adapt to wire baskets with chains? I have four of these on my front porch and would love to be able to twirl these so that my baskets grow evenly.

Thanks Alex. I will look for hanging herb garden ideas. However, as far as the hanging pot itself goes, I've got that covered! I've actually invented a hanging pot that you can rotate 360 degrees for easy watering and sunning. So it will be perfect for outdoor growing. Just need to deal with the watering indoors. :) If anyone would like to see what I'm talking about, you can go to www.merrygrowround.com to see my rotating plant hanger.
