iris it is one of my early summer favorite
i would love to know others that love the iris as i do and do U think it will fair a cold winter with out snow cover?

Excellent ! A light coating of compost never hurt anyone, especially irises. I'm sure they appreciate it.

Here in Denver (the High Plains) we always get a little (or a lot) of snow, then it melts and exposes everything to the occasional sub-zero temps, and iris are just fine, as long as they're not sitting in wet low spot. With normal drainage, they're OK.
