...for us anyway lol.
Yesterday we basically finished the new beds. I might add another layer of border bricks on two of the beds, but that can be done later. We also need to level out the walkways between beds and cart away the big rocks that we dug up. But the beds themselves are ready for planting.
So yesterday, I transplanted my blueberry bushes to the 'fruit' bed. I also transplanted my Alpine White strawberries there, as well as trading a few with my next door neighbor for some regular, red strawberries. And those went in the same bed, on the other side of the blueberries.
Then, I cut my seed potatoes into pieces and did my final figuring on where everything will go and how much room each thing needs.
Just as it was getting dark I managed to get my onion sets in. I planted just under 200 of them. I only had a space of 5' x 3', so clearly many will be thinned out as green onions. But that's okay, I use those a lot, too :).
My faithful dog, Ginger, was laying nearby, keeping me company. I was paying attention to my planting, and just as it was getting dark Ginger let out a soft 'wurf'. When I looked up, there were a half dozen large does standing at the fence watching me.
A very peaceful ending to the day :)
Today it rained for a bit, but has stopped now, so I am going to try to get as many seeds planted as possible.
