We had a severe thunder storm last evening. It brought with it the dreaded hail. The only good thing about it was it wasn't very large. Dime to nickle size, an occassional larger one. Most everything seemed to fare alright. The dogwood blossoms are all but gone now. The azaleas are fading. The gumpo azaleas come around late May, June. The hostas were coming up nicely. At least the one that have survived drought and under ground critters. However, hostas and hail don't get on so well. They are rather fragile. Hails rips through the leaves like bullets. So the hosta's that yesterday afternoon were looking so fresh and lovely are now looking a bit ragged. It makes me sad. The newness of Spring has now taken a hit from the power of a storm.
