Rabbits invade our yard like they have found rabbit heaven. The only remedy I have found is to enclose my raised garden frames with rabbit fencing. Various repellants that claim to be 100% effective have not worked! The only vegetables they don't seem to eat are tomatoes and peppers. Anyone else had problems with rabbits? Ruth

How 'cool'!--No pun intended! tobasco! Imagine! I have planned my garden to enclose all the vegetables that the rabbits have eaten in the past and already have the fences installed. But maybe I'll try it on my roses. A baby rabbit was calmly sitting under one of my rose bushes a couple of days ago, and having a grand old time having breakfast!

Yep, rabbits are a natural hazard here in Plano. My first weekend gardening after we moved here an older gentleman came up and asked how I planned to protect my pansies from the rabbits. He seemed a bit startled when I said I didn't. I planted the pansies for the rabbits, they love marigolds too so I plant those in summer. They'd way rather eat them than the plants I was spraying with pepper spray.

The Dirt Doctor at dirtdoctor.com gives several recipes for garlic/pepper tea. Search the library under rabbit or the search bar under pepper spray will put you in their forum for a discussion of various recipes for just pepper spray.

Also, try planting varieties that are labeled "deer proof" as rabbits don't like those either.
