We've been eating fresh radishes from the salad garden - grated on sandwiches and salads - yum!

I must be nuts - I planted a bunch more seed in peat pots - mostly sunflowers because if i plant them directly into the soil the chipmunks and squirrels dig them up and eat them! I also planted some delphinium seeds in hopes of having those in my flower garden next year. I planted garlic chives and French Marigold seeds in peat pots too.

This is the first year I've tilled up the entire veggie garden and planted in every inch of it! I'll be busy come harvest time!

Hi, I'm new to this website, it's been fun seeing fellow Michigan gardeners! I live in Saginaw and the squirrels are terrible here, too- and we're right in town! Good luck with the delphiniums, I just started some lupines from seed having high hopes for next summer.

Pat, I saw a magazine photo of radishes grown in a large, decorative plant pot. It was quite attractive, serves two purposes.

Oh, those garlic chives are heavy on reseeding. And they reseed deep (seedlings can't be pulled). I suggest deadheading immediatly after the flowers fade. However, the fall blooms are really nice. A good "add" to the garden. :>)
