We just about got blown away down here in Arkansas yesterday! It took the top out of a huge oak and that landed in the street, blocking traffic. When it fell, it landed on a wire that was attached to a street lamp, which broke off and landed in the neighbor's yard. The crazy people kept driving over the wire, not knowing if it was live or not. Not a smart thing! There were so many calls for the city, the police came out and moved the top of our tree into our neighbor's yard. It's so big and heavy, we can't move it. It's still there, so I will stay on top of it and get it moved for her. We have another huge limb down in the yard that landed on the clothesline, but it didn't break it! It could've been worse. We always like rain, but good grief!

Harry, that sounds so weird! You turning on the furnace and us with 97 (heat index 105)!

Weird year is right. We seldom have thunderstorms in June in the Pacific Northwest. Had a big one on Father's Day when all the kids were swimming at the neighborhood pool. Each time the lightning was seen in the distance, they had to add another half hour to the pool closure. We finally got rained on so much, that we all packed up and headed to our house (two+ blocks) and finished our annual multi-family celebration -- with a fire going in the fireplace. Very strange. Yesterday, it was cold enough that I turned the furnace back on. Today is much better. Phew!

I was really surprised when the city showed up yesterday morning at 7:30 and got the top of our tree out of the neighbor's yard. I went over and cleaned up the small branches and oak leaf branches covered in leaves. Then, later in the morning, they came out and put up a new street lamp. You can't even tell anything happened, unless you look at the top of my tree. lol It's still raining here, but I'm not complaining, as long as it's not storms.

Norma, you are right, it's a pretty busy street and what if it had fallen on a car!

Hope your all cleaned up now after the storm, we dodged tornadoes this week, Wish I had a basement. I'm putting off going outside to work this morning, guess I need to bite the bullet and go get it done, I always feel much better once I get out there and get started. KWIM?

Thank goddness it landed in the street and not on someones home or vehicle! Now the wire is a little scary but no one got hurt. Wow what weather and here in SA it is just plain hot hot hot. I'm glad you are safe.

Yes, it has been weird, Eloise. We don't usually have this type weather in mid-June. We're due for more tonight in the wee hours of the morning. I've grown up in this tornado alley and you never get used to it.
