I only have a few spots of tulips just starting. I don't grow many as they attract a type of "wire" worm that infests the bulbs by the 2nd year unless you treat with a chemical. So after that they become chicken food. The worms got most of my cannas this spring which usually are unaffected.  I am starting over with those-- looks like only 3 survived. Daffodils seem to avoid destruction & multiply a little better. Primroses get the buggers too but the chickens have been allowed to dig them out & leave enough of the plants behind--they are better for it. We have been driving up where the tulip fields attract all the attention each year. You wouldn't believe how terrible the traffic jams are for a couple weeks!
