Our DIY Rain Barrel

We finished our first homemade rain barrel!
We documented our work to make this video, and left out our mistakes so that, hopefully, this will provide 'smooth sailing' directions for your own barrel.

Does anyone in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania know a factory that will give away any plastic 55 Gallon Barrels? Or at least sell them cheep? I was also looking up on Youtube on how to drill your own well, their is a lot of good idea's out their!! Thanks everyone!!

Comment by Julie Grinnell z5 MI on September 23, 2009 at 12:22pm: I will say 20-30 dollars. That is assuming that the tools are already on hand. The barrels that I have seen in my area are between free and $10. We paid about $20 for the parts and a hole saw set.
