Great video Lillian.  As a child I always called the crested pigeons Wood Pigeons, but my husband told me that is not their correct name.  Was down shopping centre yesterday and 2 rainbow lorrikeets were happily sharing a bread roll on the pavement outside the bread shop!  Not at all bothered by the pedestrians, cars etc. I guess it is a sign of the times when these birds that previously foraged for their food and remained on the outskirts are now happy to get food from shopping complexes!  We have just had a huge white Cockatoo land in garden in front of the 2 dogs, help itself to a  small piece of their bone and then fly off carrying it!  Getting so cheeky.

Thanks for sharing, Lillian!  Love to hear and see them moving about; such cheerful lil things!  I have never seen a pigeon with a top crest on their head like that before!!  How snazzy of them!

Where was this video taken? Our pigeons, Southeast USA, don't have any crest on their heads - and I don't think we have any wild parrot populations here either although Florida comes up with some unusual creatures from pets being let loose.

Liilian, there is a place in the USA that has rainbow lorikeets so tame that they will fly to your shoulder and eat fruit out of your hand!  see them at http://www.kdu.com/see.html  .  My young daughters were delighted to see and feed these beautiful birds.  This locale is in easy driving distance from my home and garden.

Am at library so I could see this video!  Loved it!  After two mos. was given a different computer but there's still a problem and have to take it back.  Already signed up for higher speed so i can get videos and it's only $3 more a month than dial-up with my local phone co.!!!  Can hardly wait for it to be back to normal.  Going to use my time learning the digital camera!!

Love how your pidgeons look so much more beautiful than the ones in the city of San Francisco! Thanks for sharing. Great stuff. -Birdie
